This site is just a place to find Linux tips, tricks, repairs, articles, and maybe the occasional rant or maybe the occasional essay. This site is not meant to be read like a blog. Use the search feature to see if I’ve already covered it, or browse by using the Index of Articles. If you have a question or an idea for the site, just use the contact form. Most people are expected to reach this site via a search engine and that’s what the site is optimized for.
I don’t expect that I’ll be writing long articles. That doesn’t seem likely. I will leave comments open, so that folks can ask. My writing presupposes that you already have a working knowledge of Linux. This site isn’t really meant to get you started using Linux, but rather to move you forward from beginner to competent user status.
At the same time, if you have any questions, just go ahead and ask under one of the articles. I ain’t scared! I may not have the answer. I may not have time to find the answer. Or, I may just have the answer and the time to write something up.
This site is also a mix of the many, many notes that I’ve accumulated over the years. Since almost my first days of using Linux exclusively, I’ve kept fairly extensive notes of what does what and why it does it. I’d like to get those notes online. This site will facilitate that. If you feel some compelling reason to help out, just let me know.
Finally, I think this page stands as a good example of what you can expect. It’s not long-winded, broad, deep, or difficult to understand. That’s what you can expect from me.
